Application Support Engineer

About the Project:

Our partner is one of the fastest growing private jet aviation companies. The applications developed by us support the main business activities - automation of feasibility check and preparation of flights. Preparing all the needed preconditions for a flight to happen, crew management, integration with 3rd party aviation systems for flight routing and weather conditions. Post-flight executions - gather technical log from the aircraft. Clients invoice processing. 


    The technical stack is:
  • Backend: Java 8, Spring Boot, Kafka

  • Frontend: ReactJS, Redux, WebPack, Router, Apollo GraphQL

  • CI: Jenkins

  • Database: MySQL

    We have currently 2 cross-functional teams, Product Owner and dedicated DevOps team who are responsible for the whole product lifecycle - from building specifications, wireframes, and UX design, through development, release to production and user support.


    About You:

      What’s expected from the Application Support Engineer in the team:
    • Supporting colleagues in-house in terms of technical questions and requests related to application problems
    • Supporting and driving projects, Release Management Support
    • Identifying bugs and workarounds and escalating them to the development team for root cause resolution
    • Take ownership of new cases and escalations
    • Collaboration with management and development teams to resolve service issues
    • Participate in daily scrum meetings with the development team in order to have a high-level picture of new features development
    • Product and Project specific co-working with other departments in case of Changes and Roll-outs
    • Develop product expertise and learn new software tools and skills
    • Monitoring tasks and Application Troubleshooting ( 2nd|3rd level)
    • Documenting troubleshooting procedures and maintaining the Knowledgebase (Confluence)
    • Raise opportunities for process improvement


    • We hope you are a traveler and enjoy the islands as you will frequently fly to Malta ( 4-5 times per year)

      For the above you must have:

    • Have previous experience in application support 
    • Be able to open Linux terminals to remote systems and collect needed application logs and stats where needed
    • Have a working knowledge of relational databases and good SQL scripting skills - being able to collect the needed data in order to troubleshoot an issue
    • Have experience with troubleshooting complex software platforms and problem-solving techniques
    • Have the willingness to learn and master employer-specific software and business logic/process
    • Have experience with Atlassian products (JIRA and Confluence)
    • Be fluent in English - to communicate with team members located at different parts of the world
    • have a self-driven and goal-oriented approach to work
    • be proactively seeking improvements
    • be a team player
