While this year's conference focused heavily on AI in QA and testing and emerging technologies, Petko's Session VI presentation offered a refreshing perspective on a fundamental challenge that continues to affect QA teams daily. His talk, "Automating Asynchronous Events," addressed one of the most persistent obstacles in test automation - handling non-real-time events such as cron jobs, delayed email receipts, and file generation. These are scenarios that often force QA teams to resort to manual testing, regardless of how advanced their automation frameworks may be.
Petko Petkov demonstrated multiple techniques for handling asynchronous automation through real-world examples, discussing both the advantages and limitations of each approach. The presentation provided attendees with actionable strategies to reduce test flakiness and expand their automation capabilities beyond traditional real-time scenarios.
