Few months ago our colleague Elena went to Västerås, Sweden to participate in an 6 months exchange program studying Software Engineering in the local university. We are very happy with her choice and are waiting for her to come back with lot of stories and knowledge to share. Here is what she says about her experience there:
“Currently I study Research Methods in Natural Sciences and Engineering – how to write and publish science papers. We write reviews of computer science articles and we are about to write our own. Other subject I have is Distributed Software Development – a project for local software companies that they’ve delegated (or outsourced) to the university. Every team consists of couple of members from different nationalities and has one mentor from the respective software company.
The city is relative small, and most of the people live and study here. They use bikes and walk a lot. I live just next to the university 🙂 Here are some photos: a farm near the town, the house I live in and all the international students on the beach. Next are the university, the town, our yard, small forest in the middle of the city where people sport and the largest road is 30km. Then the port and the zoo 🙂”
