Our client is a leader in compliance technology solutions for regulated financial firms. As the volume of data compliance teams must monitor keeps growing, they saw an opportunity to use AI to get ahead of it. They partnered with Dreamix to build Encore: a production-grade AI platform that today gives compliance teams access to 100+ AI models, intelligent document processing, and agentic tooling that turns hours of manual investigation work into minutes.

The Story of our Partner

Our client is a leading provider of a wide range of services for the financial services industry, with clients in 60+ countries across the world.

The Challenge

The compliance industry faces a structural data problem that compounds year on year. As regulatory requirements now cover emails, chats, voice calls, and social media, content volumes are exploding and outpacing what any team can manually review. Compliance knowledge sits scattered across PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, and email attachments across multiple systems.

AI was the obvious solution, but hard to implement at the level regulated firms require. Our client’s clients were already using AI informally, which was creating shadow-AI risk. Internally, our client faced their own challenge: each product line needed AI capabilities (LLM access, document processing, semantic search, agentic tooling), but building bespoke AI for each product independently would be slow, fragmented, and expensive to maintain.

They decided to invest in an unified AI platform serving all their products and clients from a single foundation. They needed an engineering partner with the depth and speed to build it properly.

The Dreamix Solution

Our client selected Dreamix for its full-stack AI engineering capability, speed of execution, and proven experience with complex enterprise systems. Rather than working as an external supplier, our engineers embedded directly into our client’s engineering team, contributing to the same codebase and participating in architecture decisions, code review, and sprint planning as genuine partners.

The work was divided into several key phases:

Phase 1: LLM Gateway

First, we built a single access point that connects all of our client’s products to 100+ AI models from OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic, and AWS Bedrock. Instead of separate integrations for each provider, our client’s entire product suite now runs through one governed, managed layer. Clients get full visibility into their AI usage and costs from day one - and our client is no longer tied to any single AI vendor

Phase 2: Document Processing

The next challenge was getting compliance data into a usable state. We built a processing pipeline that handles 15+ file formats, using a chain of specialist engines to tackle even the most difficult legacy content and convert it into clean, structured text ready for AI analysis.

Phase 3: Knowledge Base & Intelligent Search

With documents processable, we built the layer that makes them useful. Compliance teams can upload their policies, regulatory filings, and guidance documents, then ask questions in plain language and get cited answers with direct source references.Every response is traceable back to the original document.

Phase 4: AI Agents & Compliance Tooling

This was the platform's key differentiator. We built AI agents that can take actions across our client’s live compliance systems: searching communication records, querying surveillance alerts, checking employee compliance status, and synthesising findings across all of them in a single conversation. Investigations that previously required an analyst to navigate five or more systems manually can now run in minutes.

Phase 5: Batch Processing & Media

With the core platform running, we turned to scale. Sometimes, a compliance firm needs to process tens of thousands of documents for a regulatory review, or work through a full quarter of flagged communications. We built the infrastructure to handle those large workloads efficiently and cost-effectively. We also added audio and video transcription at this stage, to make recorded calls and meetings searchable.

Phase 6: Hardening & Continuous Optimisation

Ongoing work focuses on performance, resilience, and expanding the library of compliance tools available to the agents. The platform runs across fully isolated development, staging, and production environments on AWS, with infrastructure managed as code.

The Results

Thanks to our work together, our client now has an AI platform that matches the complexity of the compliance industry it serves. Compliance teams using the platform can now query an entire document library and get cited, audit-ready answers in seconds. Investigations that previously required an analyst to move manually across five or more systems can be completed in minutes. For teams working under constant regulatory pressure, where speed and traceability matter, that's an impactful shift.

On the infrastructure side, the platform is built for scale: bulk workloads of thousands of documents per job, 15+ file formats, and audio and video transcription across six formats. Everything runs through a single governed integration point across 100+ AI models from four providers, with full cost visibility and no vendor lock-in.

Just as importantly, our client developed a differentiated, enterprise-grade AI product and deployed it at once across their entire product suite, at a time when their clients are actively looking for governed AI they can trust.
