The Challenge 

A commissionable premiums report is an extensive financial document used to calculate, track, and verify compensation and premiums in the insurance industry. As such, our client’s CPRs required synthesizing information from numerous internal systems, statistics databases, and metrics platforms. Their data engineering team would manually process each data source, apply aggregation formulas, and compile everything into comprehensive reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients.

This entirely manual workflow consumed over a month per report, which was creating bottlenecks in their operations and limiting their ability to provide timely insights to clients.

The Dreamix Solution 

A Dreamix QA worked with our partner’s team to automate the process. Together, they conducted a comprehensive analysis of the client's reporting requirements and future development plans. The QA specialist developed detailed test cases aligned with their business needs and implemented a thorough functional testing protocol to verify that all critical paths functioned correctly.

The testing process covered data aggregation accuracy, formula validation, and report output verification. We're currently planning a full automation framework to eliminate manual intervention in the reporting pipeline.

The Results

Our work together delivered significant results. Reports that previously required over a month now take just hours to generate. While some manual oversight remains necessary, the automation has reduced processing time by approximately 95%.

During our testing phase, we identified and documented over 100 bugs in the existing system, preventing these issues from affecting production reports and ensuring data accuracy for both the client and their customers.
